THE ADAPTATION ISSUE –

The questions rise like bubbles from the surface of a coin we've tossed into a glass of cherry phosphate. Would it were a fountain, the glass of soda is the only liquid we had at the time. And one way or another we must decide. Do we adapt to the situation or retreat to safety? Will things ever be the way we wish them to be? In this issue we focus on the pursuit of our often-elusive destinies and the art these moments inspire.

Herein rest and fidget the remnants we follow like tracks of crumbs repeating a multitude of what has already been repeated, our invariable directives: To be is not to be. To have done is to have continued with what has already been done. The future may already not exist. Then there's another crumb. We continue like this. If only we can say the path led somewhere.

Featured writers and artists in this issue include: Gay Baines, Dick Bentley, Jed Bierhaus, Ilmars Birrznieks, Sara Bukin, Gladys Justin Carr, Reneé D'Aoust, Lucille Lang Day, Mark Dwortzan, Hal Fleming, Nan Fink Gefen, Andrey Gritsman, Karen Hildebrand, Marc Elihu Hofstadter, Robert Bruce Kelsey, Robert C Knox, Susan Lewis, John O'Brien, Matt Perron, William Petrick, Pedro Ponce, Gregory W Randall, Richard L Rose, Zoli Rozen, Elizabeth Sachs, Andrew Schultz, Jim Sienkiewicz, Barbara Cunliffe Singleton, John Surowiecki, Eric Tallberg, Duane Vorhees, Paul Watsky, Cornelia Wells, Yuvi Zalkow.
